Auto Vs Manual read modes

When HDS1504 is operating in Auto read mode, it will automatically recognize that scanner is present and will start read process.
If read process is completed successfully, HDS1504 will send command to scanner to erase barcodes that are already downloaded.
All of these operations are performed without user interaction and can be done in background.
To enable Auto read option click on "Auto Read Mode" radio button in Terminal window.

After downloading all barcodes, HDS1504 will store barcodes to ODBC Databases, files and/or send them as keystrokes (see Define where to store barcodes option).

When HDS1504 is operating in Manual read mode, user is required to press "Read Data" button in Terminal window to initiate read process.
If read process is completed successfully, user should click on "Clear Data" button to erase barcodes that are already downloaded.
It is possible to set scanner property to automatically erase barcodes after download regardless of HDS1504 Auto/Manual mode operations.
For more information about setting scanner properties see "Scanner settings" link.
Additionally, it is possible to assign key combinations - HOTKEYS for read and erase operations.
For more information about setting hotkeys see Sending barcodes as keystrokes.
